About K12 STEM Homeschool Tutoring
K12 STEM Homeschool Tutoring (aka ‘Trini Homeschooling’) is a small centre for private tutoring that caters to the educational needs of: homeschoolers, public school students, university students and adults. We also host STEM/STEAM Workshops and short holiday themed activities for children or parent and child. ‘Trini Homeschooling’ has been in operation privately since 2015 however, it was officially registered as a tutoring business as “K12 STEM Homeschool Tutoring” in 2018. We are located in Debe, South Trinidad, but from 2019 we will have online programs to allow any student to access classes from any part of the country.
Our name indicates that we mainly tutor from Kindergarten to Grade 12 levels, that is from Infants to Form 6. However, we do tutor at the university level as well, in Mathematics and Engineering Sciences. Our motto, “Teaching children the way they learn“, indicates that we use a very student- centred approach to learning and by using various teaching methods we ensure the success of each student. Thus, the STEM framework for teaching is used. (STEM is an acronym for “Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics”)
Currently, tutoring in the following subjects are offered:
- SEA – Mathematics, ELA and Creative Writing
- Cambridge Primary Level – Mathematics and Science
- CSEC / O-Level / IGCSE – Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Labs by Request only)
- CAPE / A-Level – Mathematics and Physics
- University (UWI & UTT) – Mathematics and Physics/Engineering Science based.
Our class sizes range from a maximum of 5 students per class for the primary level to 10 students per class for the older students.
Our vision is to not only ensure the success of our students in their exams, but to develop the analytical skills, critical thinking, problem solving and innovativeness needed in students for future careers.

She is the full time educator of her own children and creates her own interdisciplinary curriculum content for their use. She has a B.Sc. in Manufacturing Engineering and 6 years experience working in process/production and engineering departments in manufacturing industries across Trinidad. She is also registered as a teacher with the Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago and has spent the last 2 years studying the curriculum content and various teaching methods from institutions and schools from around the world.
Tutoring in areas of Mathematics and Science and creating STEM based curriculum content is now her major focus. She has completed studies in Data Analytics for Teachers, The Science of Learning, Leading Educational Innovation and Improvement Capstone, Improvement Science in Education, Designing and Leading Learning Systems, Design Thinking for Leading and Learning, Instructional Design and Technology: Learning Theories, Introduction to Family Engagement in Education, Positive Behavior Support for Young Children, The Science of Parenting, STEM Curriculum for K-12 and most recently Innovating Instruction: Learning Design in the STEM Classroom. Her major teaching advantage that has always led to success in her students is that she is well versed in the subject areas of Mathematics and Sciences from primary level to university level, not only in theory but in the practical aspects as well; and she is able to teach these subjects using alternate methods, interconnect subjects and apply real life applications that enables students to better understand, retain and enjoy the information that they are presented with.
Although her major is in Mathematics and Sciences, her B.Sc. also provided her with a wealth of knowledge in POA & Engineering Economics, Financial Management, Sales and Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
